The Death Penalty

I fully believe the death penalty is a fair way to punish people who commit murders and other high crimes. In the bible, Exodus 21:12 states “Whoever strikes a man so that he dies shall be put to death."

I think the process of appeals and run arounds in the system are just a way to prolong punishment, why be put to death when you can appeal long enough that it is life in prison. If you take someones life on purpose the death penalty should be on the table and if it is on the table it should be carried out in a timely manner.

I dont have much to say on this topic so this one will stay short and sweet. Death Penalty is  a proper punishment for murders especially, and other high crimes. People on Death Row, should not be able to live a full life in prison.

If I Wanted America To Fail...

This is a powerful video, follow the link above.

This is the quote i put on Facebook following this video.

"Truth, Americans as individuals are weak, we all are because 1 person cant stand up to everyone. Americans are strong when they band together and fight. We as Americans need to stand up and make this country strong again instead of heading down the path we are taking."

Develop your own opinions on this video, but watch it with an open mind. If you feel the same as i do, share this video and help educate other people on where this country is going.

One Of Those Scary Topics - Abortion.......

You can call me what you want, but overall, i believe in personal right. I think a person should be able to be free to do anything they want to with their body as long as it doesnt directly harm another person. Tattoos, piercings, diet preferences, smoking, drinking. Things like that. I do not smoke, nor drink but i dont believe its right to tell other people not to.

Anyway, onto the topic at hand. I believe in Pro-Choice. I believe the woman has a right to choose. I will be the first to say, i believe the baby should be given every chance at life. Adoption, and things like that should all be an option. But at the end of the day, i believe the most important thing is that the choice of what to do with her body, and what is in it, lies within the woman, and her only.

It is so easy for someone to tell someone else what they should do with their lives, but they never like it turned back around on them. If you dont agree with Pro-Choice, or Pro-Life, that is your opinion and you are entitled to it. No one has the right to judge someone else for their opinion though, and people loose sight of this realization everyday.

Westboro Church

The Westboro church is a group that believe soldiers die because God is punishing the US for toleration of homosexuality.

First, I am not gay, but i believe gay people should be able to do as they please.

Second, How can a CHURCH find themselves able to do this. They hold signs up at soldiers' funerals that say "Thank God for 9/11" and "Thank God for IED's" and "Semper Fi, Semper Fag".  How can anyone who says they are a Christian believe that this is ok in the slightest. Luke 6:37 says "Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven;" and James 4:11-12 says "Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is only one lawgiver and judge, he who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge your neighbor?". These are only a few verses from the book that these people are supposed to live by and they believe it is ok for them to do this ?  Furthermore, the Supreme Court lets them, i understand freedom of speech but there should be something that can be done to keep them away from these funerals. These people would not be able to open their mouths if it wasn't for the armed forces.

I believe something needs to be done to stop these radicals with no respect for God, nor their country.

Political parties and the downfall of a nation.

George Washington had one famous quote in his farewell address that reads "However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion." ( sourced from http://www.notable-quotes.com/w/washington_george.html on Thursday, March 3rd, 2011 ).

I believe this quote sums up what is happening. People from one party are too busy in competition with the other party, too busy insulting, discrediting and putting down the other party to focus on the issues. Every election time we see prime examples of this in commercials. How can anyone vote for someone who is willing to pretty much try to cut the opponents throat on prime time TV ?  If these people took the time to tell the honest truth about themselves and work with the opposing to make this Country better, people would be better off and this nation wouldnt be in such turmoil. You can turn on the TV during election time and chances are you might see a rally for a party that turned violent, or possibly deadly because a radical from one party felt the need to go after the other.

What people dont realize is that all the slander and insults that go on during election time and what not is a prime example of a horrible trend in history. In past dictatorships, it has been a trend to deiscredit or silence someone with an opposite opinion. This is happening today, we are all Americans and we all have opinions. Republicans and Democrats have different opinions and instead of finding a medium between their respective opinions, they would rather show hate towards the other side for the difference, this is a primitive style of thinking that will cause the downfall of our nation.

Gun Laws

I am a gun owner myself and i believe in full freedom of the Second Amendment. What i also believe in, is that laws that are more strict will only keep the already good citizens, honest. If a criminal wants or needs a gun to commit a crime, they will get their hands on one regardless of the laws in place. I believe gun laws only take guns out of the hands of innocent citizens who might need them to defend themselves.

I am not going to say there should not be restrictions, mentally unstable people and convicted felons should not be able to legally buy a gun anywhere. Obviously, any system that doesn't either take all guns from all citizens or that doesn't give 100% freedom to anyone will have its issues and problems. The world and our nation will not be able to alleviate armed crime/violence completely but all politicians need to work together to find better solutions to give honest citizens their rights and keep criminals from getting their hands on a firearm.

Separation Of Church And State and the Pledge Of Allegiance.

I believe the Pledge Of Allegiance said in schools today is a violation of the "Separation". The statement in the pledge that says "One nation under god" suggests that this nation is only for people who believe in God. This seems wrong to say in schools and that is an obvious religious line in a phrase that is said every morning in pretty much every school around the Nation. Second, This nation was formed based on freedom of religion, how does this phrase suggest a freedom of religion. I believe in God myself but i think if someone does not agree that this line shouldn't be in the pledge, then they possibly have a judgemental or discriminatory opinion of other religions.

In short, The Pledge should not be said in school and the phrase "one nation under god" does not belong in the pledge, In my opinion.
